KZYX&Z’s Be More Now Features the Mendocino County Poet Laureate Committee

Tune into KZYX&Z’s Be More Now program at 7pm on Thursday, February 1 when host Blake More  speaks with members of the Mendocino County Poet Laureate Selection committee Michael Riedell, Kirk Lumpkin and Larry Felson. They’ll be talking about the important role poetry plays in Mendocino County, the budding Poet Laureate program, as well as offering insights about their own work and a few poems.

My guests Michael Riedell, Kirk Lumpkin, Larry Felson and along with Devreaux Baker and myself, are the founding members of the Mendocino County Poet Laureate program.

Nominations are being accepted now and until February 29th for the first Poet Laureate of Mendocino County. Nominees will be asked to submit applications in March and be interviewed in April. The Laureate selected will be honored at a Mendocino County Board of Supervisors meeting in May. Anyone can make a nomination and poets can nominate themselves.
